Machu Picchu, one of the new seven wonders of the world, is an amazing stone settlement in the Peruvian Andes built by the Incas.

Tourists from all over the world come to visit Machu Picchu. Facilities are well set up for the tourist. There is well prepared access from Cusco and you can arrive by train with a short minibus ride up the hill, or walk along the well-known hike along the "Camino de los Incas".

It used to be possible to visit Machu Picchu as a foreign tourist with little ceremony, but now it is normal for foreign tourists to be caught up in the "first class programmes".
